Deputy Ministers Le Anh Tuan

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Deputy Minister Lê Anh Tuấn was born in 1976, with his hometown in Son Tay Commune, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province. Since 2002, he has held various positions related to synthesis work, legislative development, management, and secretarial duties. Additionally, he is a Member of the 14th and 15th National Assembly, former Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly's Committee for External Relations, Chairman of the Vietnam – South Africa Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group.

DIPLOMATIC CAREER

Mr. Lê Anh Tuấn began his career as an officer in the Department of Synthesis, Office of the National Assembly, starting in July 2002. From April 2010 to March 2016, he served as Deputy Director-General of the Department of Synthesis, Office of the National Assembly, responsible for overseeing the synthesis of legislative development. He held the rank equivalent to Director-General of the Department of Synthesis and served as Secretary to Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Sinh Hùng.

From July 2016 to June 2021, he was elected as a Member of the 14th National Assembly (representing Ha Tinh Province). The National Assembly Standing Committee approved him as a Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee for External Relations; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Ukraine Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; Secretary of the External Relations Party Cell for the 2020-2022 term; and Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Office of the National Assembly for the 2020-2025 term.

From July 2021 to February 2025, he was re-elected as a Member of the 15th National Assembly (representing Ha Tinh Province). The National Assembly Standing Committee approved him as Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for External Relations; Chairman of the Vietnam – South Africa Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Office of the National Assembly for the 2020-2025 term; and Secretary of the External Relations Party Cell for the 2023-February 2025 term.

On February 18, 2025, according to Decision No. 316/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Concurrently, he serves as a Member of the National Assembly's Committee for National Defence, Security, and External Relations according to Resolution No. 1433/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee; Chairman of the Vietnam – South Africa Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group.
