Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu was born in 1976 in Hanoi. He has held various positions in the fields of bilateral diplomacy, multilateral diplomacy, foreign policy, and international economic integration.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu is married with two children.

Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Institute for International Relations (now the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam);

Master's degree in Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom;

PhD in Economics from the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.

From 1999 to 2000, he worked at the Translation Division (now the National Translation and Interpretation Center), Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2001, he was appointed as an Officer at the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked for three years.
From 2004 to 2007, he served as Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the International APEC Secretariat (based in Singapore), concurrently Program Director for the Sub-Committee on Standards and Conformance and the Group on Services. From 2007 to 2011, he worked at the Department of Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding the position of Deputy Director-General from 2009.
From 2011 to 2014, he was assigned as Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Vietnam in the People's Republic of China. Subsequently, he returned to Vietnam and served as Deputy Director-General, Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2015.
During the period 2015 – 2018, he served as Director-General, Standing Deputy Head of the APEC 2017 National Secretariat. From March 2018 to September 2019, he was appointed Director-General of the Department of Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He has held the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs since September 2019.
During his career in the diplomatic service, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu has been awarded several titles and certificates of merit, including:

Third-Class Labor Order in 2018 for outstanding achievements during APEC Year 2017;

Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in 2007 for outstanding achievements during APEC Year 2006;
