Deputy Ministers Đo Hung Viet
Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet was born in 1977 in Hanoi. Joining the diplomatic service in 2001, he has held various positions related to the fields of international integration and multilateral diplomacy.
He is married with three daughters.

Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Institute for International Relations (now the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam).

Master's degree in International Law from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Fluent in English; conversational in Swedish and French.
Mr. Do Hung Viet began his diplomatic career in July 2001 upon recruitment and assignment to the Translation Division (now the Department of Translation and Interpretation). In 2005, he was transferred to the Department of International Organizations, and in 2011 was appointed Deputy Director-General.
From 2013 to 2016, he served at the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations in New York, USA, where he successively held the positions of Counselor, then Minister Counselor, Deputy Permanent Representative.
Upon returning to Vietnam, he was appointed Deputy Director-General of the APEC 2017 National Secretariat and assigned as Assistant to the APEC 2017 SOM Chair. In March 2018, he was transferred back as Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, appointed Acting Director-General (January 2019), Director-General of the Department of International Organizations (July 2019), then Assistant Minister, concurrently Director-General of the Department of International Organizations (August 2021).
During his career in the diplomatic service, Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet has been awarded several titles and certificates of merit, including:

Third-Class Labor Order for outstanding achievements in the preparation and servicing of APEC Year 2017 events.

Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for contributions to Vietnam's service as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2008-2009 term.

Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for outstanding achievements in the implementation of vaccine diplomacy.

Medal "For the Cause of Diplomacy".
