Truong Tan Sang, who is also standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee, was addressing the 6th Congress of the VFF Central Committee's Presidium in Ha Noi.
Sang proposed that the VFF continue to reform its mode of operation, efficiently perform its function of supervision, actively participate in building the Party and governments and in combating corruption and waste.
He stressed that the Party has always listened to the opinions of the cadres, the Party members and the people, and that the Party has introduced policies allowing people to express their viewpoint and become involved in its work.
During the congress, the VFF Central Committee's Presidium collected opinions on a draft programme of VFF's action for the implementation of the 10th National Party Congress's resolution.
Participants at the congress discussed and offered opinions on the VFF's working plan for the last remaining months of this year and on a report on its performance in supervising Party members and public employees at residential areas in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Ninh Binh, Quang Binh and Tien Giang.
They also volunteered opinions concerning recognition of those localities that have met the requirement of their poverty reduction programmes./.
